My professional roots are in Chicago’s nonprofit community where I was lucky enough to build my career in some of the city’s most prestigious institutions. Today, I am a co-founder of Front Range Source and serve a national clientele from my home in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Colorado.
I have been a consultant since 2000. Before that, I served as:
I have a particular passion for teaching and offer workshops through Front Range Source every month. In addition, I have developed curriculum and taught for such organizations as Chicago’s Nonprofit Financial Center, the Colorado Nonprofit Association, Donors Forum of Chicago, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Northwestern University’s School of Continuing Studies.
I also have a strong background in writing, having developed case statements, proposals and other communications materials for dozens of organizations. My favorite writing project was a collaboration with my husband, photographer Andrew Goldman, on the book Facing North: Portraits of Ely, Minnesota, released by the University of Minnesota Press in spring of 2008.
Board service has been an essential learning experience for me and a great opportunity to give back to my community. I have served on the board of Impact on Education in Boulder, Colorado, on the advisory board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust in Oak Park, Illinois, and on the board of directors of the Chicago Foundation for Women. I was a founding board member of Wonder Works, a children’s museum in Oak Park. I also served as a director of the Community Chest of Oak Park and River Forest and served two terms on the board of directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
I am a graduate of the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England where I received my B.A. with Honors in Philosophy. And, yes, I continue to find what I learned through Philosophy extremely useful!
Our vision is that every nonprofit fundraiser – staff or volunteer – has the tools and confidence they need to raise money for their great cause.
We empower staff, volunteers and board members to:
We are deeply respectful of the missions of the organizations we serve and of the people whose lives they impact. Our emphasis is always on developing customized, creative solutions. The end result is efficient, effective and sustainable change…for your organization and for your community.
